Mahons has proudly acted for Tony De Felice for many years, advising on acquisitions, sales, leasing, subdivisions, financing, and more. As the director of multiple companies with a substantial property portfolio, Tony’s developments often involve complex, high-stakes transactions.
Recently, we assisted Tony with the subdivision and sale of 67 vacant residential lots in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs. The project was far from straightforward — challenges included purchasers attempting to cancel contracts, boundary discrepancies between subdivided lots and neighbouring properties, and council compliance issues with crossover construction. By working closely with Tony and drawing on our litigation expertise when needed, we resolved each obstacle and ensured all lots settled successfully.
We are also advising Tony on another large-scale project: the subdivision and sale of 61 commercial factories and warehouses. Early in construction, an old electricity sub-station on the site threatened to delay works. We negotiated with one of Australia’s largest electricity providers to terminate the lease and secure its removal, enabling demolition and building to proceed on schedule. We also assisted with financing arrangements to keep the development moving without delay.
